Climbing up from the rock bottom!

Long time no chat! ^^

If you’ve been reading my blogs, you know that my adjustment towards college has been a wild ride. You may have seen my journey from my blogs "Starting College," "Try, Try, Try Again," and my most recent post, "Being Comfortable in the Uncomfortable."

College is so much different from High School!

Grading is a lot stricter, and for me, just passing was a blessing for the first time. Time management became extremely crucial as I had to kiss my extension privileges goodbye. I felt there was always more work waiting for me to fill up all my spare time if there was any. I also struggled with comparing myself with others (Which I will talk about another time). My sleep schedule got wacky again. The hardest battle was I could no longer avoid digital art! (And gee, I thought Senior Year was tricky, but the first semester in college was even crazier!)

Regardless of all these tribulations, I enjoyed every moment of my first semester, and I felt so grateful for studying in my dream college. Some days were harder but slowly and surely, my skills improved. I was pushed beyond my comfort zone and forced to work with new skills in almost every single class. In the end, I enlarged my skill set and became more confident. I would have never dreamed of how much I could learn in roughly three months.

To keep myself going, I had to remind myself often of the long nights I toiled to get into my dream art school, and the joy I got from the acceptance letter. It was so exciting that I am finally here to learn, to survive, and to thrive. If God brought me here, He would lead me through because He finishes what He starts. Before I knew it, the first semester went by so fast!

I reflected in my previous blog about finding peace in the uncomfortable. After surviving the first semester, I want to share what has helped me to win the battle(s). I wrote these blogs to encourage everyone including myself to move forward. A soldier telling another soldier where the bread and butter is. So, in my next blog, I’d like to share eight of my experiences on how I climbed up from rock bottom to victory.

Stay tuned!

Till Next Time,

Isabelle
